Baton Rouge Police searching for man suspected of armed robbery

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

 The Baton Rouge Police Department is looking for an armed robbery suspect of a robbery that happened earlier Saturday afternoon.

According to Cpl. Don Coppola, a suspect entered Leo’s Service Market, located at 945 East Blvd at around 3:55 p.m., armed with a handgun and demanded money. The suspect jumped over the front counter of the business and took an undisclosed amount of cash from the registers. He then fled the establishment in an unknown direction.

The suspect is described as an unknown black male, about 5’10” and weighing around 160 lbs. He appears to be in his mid 20’s.

Coppola reports the suspect was wearing a black and yellow long sleeve t-shirt, black pants with a white t-shirt over his face to hide his identity.

No injuries were reported from this incident and there are no surveillance images available.
