Nacogdoches Pilgrim's Pride worker electrocuted

NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - A Nacogdoches man died after being exposed to an electric shock while working on machinery at Pilgrim's Pride early Monday.

According to the police report, Bobby Joe Beall, 50, was taken to a hospital at 3:22 a.m., where he was pronounced dead.

Pilgrim's Pride issued a corporate statement Monday afternoon.

"Pilgrim's is saddened to report the death of Bobby Joe Beall, age 50, on Monday, Aug. 4, due to an accident at the processing facility," the statement said. "We are cooperating with local officials and our partners at OSHA to determine the cause of this incident.;

According to the statement, the company will be working with Beall's family to help meet their immediate needs. In addition, Pilgrim's Pride has made a chaplain available to provide support and assistance to the family and to the company's employees.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with the Beall family during this difficult time," the statement said. "Out of respect for the family, we not provide further comment at this time."

Pilgrim's Pride is located at 928 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.
