Livingston Police officers arrested an 18-year-old woman on Monday after she allegedly stole merchandise from the town’s Vanity Fair store and then hit an employee several times when he tried to detain her until police arrived on the scene.

Samantha Joe Cervantes, of Livingston, is still being held in the Polk County Jail on a second-degree felony robbery charge. Her bail has been set at $20,000.

According to a press release, officers with the Livingston Police Department were dispatched to the Vanity Fair store located at 440 US 59 in reference to a robbery that had just occurred there. After the officers arrived on the scene, they were able to identify Cervantes as the suspect.
