NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

Nacogdoches County Sheriff’s deputies who were investigating a string of burglaries arrested two people on drug charges on Tuesday after a search of their home on Press Road allegedly revealed 6.6 grams of crystal methamphetamine.

Donald Chris Handlin, 32, of Nacogdoches, and Lindsey Ashton Davis, 28, of Lufkin, were both booked into the Nacogdoches County Jail. Each person was charged with first-degree felony manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance between 4 and 200 grams. No bail has been set at this time.

According to a press release, NCSO investigators were checking into a string of burglaries Tuesday morning when they encountered several people in the 1800 block of Press Road.

“The subjects were acting very nervous and were known narcotics users,” the press release stated.

After the NCSO investigators got permission to search the individuals’ residence, they allegedly found 6.6 grams of crystal meth. The investigators also found numerous plastic baggies and digital scales at the residence, the press release stated.

Handlin and Davis were arrested at the scene and transported to the Nacogdoches County Jail.
