NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - This week's pooch is all paws in for adoption. Mr. Tenderfoot is a one-year-old Pitbull mix who has healed on the inside and out.
"He had possibly been in the back of a truck and tethered in and was dragged. He had injuries to all four feet. The people found him, took him to the vet and paid for all his treatment," said Steve Bryant with Nacogdoches Animal Shelter. "A lot of times we see animals that come in with serious injuries and they're very forgiving and they recover. You can see he's a happy boy."
"He's a great dog," said Bryant. "He's pretty. He's friendly. Bit of a lap dog. Seems to know sit and some other commands."
He's young, energetic and just enjoys being a dog. But he will need some special attention from his new family.
"Unfortunately he's heartworm positive so it's a little harder to get him adopted but if we find the right people that one to get him they would be responsible for his heartworm treatment and to have him neutered," said Bryant.
As usual there is no adoption fee for BFF's adopted from the Nacogdoches Animal Shelter.
