LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - A 73-year-old woman was injured in a one-vehicle rollover accident on Lufkin's Largent Street Monday afternoon.
According to a Lufkin Police Officer Brandon White, Gayle Johnson was headed west on Largent Street when she swerved to avoid hitting an animal when she lost control of her mid-2000s model Tahoe. Her SUV rolled over and came to rest on its roof in one of the ditches alongside the road.
After the woman complained of back pain, she was taken to a Lufkin hospital.
Several witnesses at the scene who were traveling behind Johnson's Tahoe confirmed her story and said she swerved to avoid an animal.
