LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - ?
It's the time of year that your new phone book might show up on your doorstep in Lufkin, but what happens if you don't use the phone book?
You can recycle it thanks to a telephone directory and paper recycling campaign going on now.
You can drop off your unwanted phone books in the yellow bins at Brookshire Brothers locations in Angelina County or at the Consolidated Communications office on First St. in Lufkin.
"For more than 20 years, we have been able to keep more than 200 tons of paper out of the Angelina County landfill, so we're really thankful for the community wanting to keep Angelina County a beautiful place to work, live and play," said Maegan Prejean, executive director of Angelina Beautiful/Clean.
The phone book recycling program is a partnership between Consolidated Communications, the City of Lufkin, Brookshire Brothers, and Angelina Beautiful/Clean.
The program runs through the end of the month, but of course, you can always recycle in the city in your blue curb-side bins.
