LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

Lufkin Police officers arrested a 24-year-old Lufkin man on a criminal trespass charge after they allegedly found him sleeping on a couch in a conference room at the Lufkin Middle School campus late Monday night.

Kodye Ryan Linton is still being held in the Angelina County Jail on a Class B misdemeanor charge of criminal trespass. His bail has been set at $1,500.

According to Lt. Mike Shurley, a spokesman for the Lufkin Police Department, LPD officers responded to the Lufkin Middle School campus on East Denman Avenue at approximately 10 p.m. Monday night in response to an active alarm.

When the officers got to the LISD campus, they found an unlocked perimeter gate. They also found that the library was unlocked.

After the officers cleared the library, they found Linton sleeping on a couch in the conference room. Because the Lufkin ISD Police Department had already issued a written criminal trespass warning to Linton for all of the LISD campuses, the LPD officers arrested him for criminal trespass and took him to the Angelina County Jail.
