Outdoorsmen will rejoice as Texas Hunting and fishing licenses go on sale to the public Friday morning.
Every year Texas Parks and Wildlife issues about 2.5 million hunting and fishing licenses.
But before you go out and get yours, you want to make sure that you are in good standing with the department.
"If you owe civil restitution to Texas Parks and Wildlife department, you will be denied,” said Game Warden Timothy Walker. “If you already have a licenses, hunting or fishing if it is in denial or revocation status you will be denied a valid license."
Walker said if the fine is with the Parks and Wildlife Department, you can pay it at their office at the same time you pay for the new license.
There are also various courses that certain people must take to participate in the season.
