NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) -
Nacogdoches defensive back Brandon Jones has options. A lot of them.
"I have some time to think about stuff," said Jones. "I'm just trying to enjoy it pretty much."
The Dragons star has become the most sought after high school junior in the country, receiving 28 major division one offers.
Defending national champion Florida State, as well as Alabama, Ohio State, USC, Notre Dame, Michigan, Oklahoma, Texas A&M and Baylor have all offered Jones a scholarship.
"When you get people with a lot of offers, they have a lot to prove," said Jones. "Because they don't want to be all talk with no action behind it."
With the best teams from the SEC, Big 12, Big Ten and Pac 12 all in a recruiting war, the offers will continue to come Jones' way.
"Hopefully I can have my top ten sometime during my junior year so it won't be so much stress and I can focus on ten teams and then lower it from there," said Jones.
Jones isn't the only highly touted Dragon. Joining him in the secondary is senior Jaylon Lane. With more than 30 offers, Lane has committed to Oklahoma State. Jones and Lane could form the best secondary duo in the nation.
"A lot of teams will think about that and throw the ball anyway," said Jones. "So we're going to have show them what we're made of and at this point as good as we are ranked."
