KINGMAN, AZ (CBS5) -

Deputies in Mohave County say a Kingman woman whose electricity had been turned off has been arrested after a stolen generator and other items taken from a neighbor were found in her yard.

Mohave County Sheriff's Office said a 72-year-old man reported that a generator, paint sprayer, a pressure washer and air compressor were taken from his shed in the 3700 block of E. Butler Ave. on Monday.

Locks and latches were broken with bolt cutters, deputies said.

Deputies found a blue generator matching the description on the back porch of a house in the 3800 block of E. Northern Ave.

A power pole in the yard had a red tag indicating there should not be power to the home and deputies believed from another box with wires hanging out of it that power may have been hooked up illegally to the home.

While deputies were investigating, Melissa Walls, 36, of Kingman returned to her home and when authorities questioned the items, Walls claimed she found them in the alleyway.

Deputies got a search warrant and found bolt cutters and the remainder of the stolen items.

Walls was arrested for felony possession of stolen property and possession of burglary tools.
