ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - Four people were injured in a two-vehicle accident that occurred two miles north of Zavalla on US Highway 69 Wednesday morning.
According to Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper Marc Slocum, the driver of Lincoln MKS was driving north on US 69 when he or she attempted to make a U-turn to get to a driveway on the opposite side of the road.
A northbound white Mercury sedan tried to pass the MKS and struck it on its side, Slocum said.
The two Houston residents who were traveling in the MKS were transported to Lufkin's Memorial Hospital by ambulance. One woman from the Mercury was also taken to Lufkin's Memorial Hospital, and the man who had been traveling in the car was airlifted to a Tyler hospital for treatment of leg injuries.
Slocum said the two people from the Mercury are from Colmesneil.
All four victims were conscious and alert when they were taken to area hospitals.
