POLK COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - The 22-year-old woman who was arrested on a drug charge on Wednesday after she allegedly passed an 18-wheeler and ran a red light was identified as Charley Nicole Wright.
Wright is still being held in the Polk County jail on a felony charge of manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance between 4 and 200 grams. No bail has been set on the charge.
Chief Ron Gilbert of the Onalaska Police Department said at approximately 1 p.m., he stopped a motorist who passed an 18-wheeler and ran a red light on U.S. Highway 190.
Gilbert said he asked the driver if he could search her vehicle. When the woman refused, he suspected probable cause and searched the vehicle. He allegedly found a bag filled with crystal methamphetamine.
The woman was arrested at the scene and transported to the Polk County Jail.
Gilbert said he thought the woman was traveling from College Station to Livingston.
