SMITH COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -

The Smith County Sheriff's Office received an armed robbery call just before 3:00 a.m. Sunday.

According to deputies, the robbery took place at a convenience store on the 11800 block of Highway 64 West in Smith County.

The caller said she had just been robbed at gunpoint, and that the suspects had fled the scene. Sheriff's Office patrol deputies were dispatched and arrived on scene just after 3:00 a.m. The witness said that two unidentified black males entered the store, one of whom was holding a gun and instructed her to give them the money.

When the clerk refused, the suspects took the entire register and fled the scene in an older model silver passenger car. The witness was unharmed. At this time the investigation is ongoing, and more details will be released as they become available.
