LUFKIN, TX (News Release) -

Crime Stoppers of Lufkin wants your help identifying three vehicle burglars.

At 2:30 a.m. on August 19, three suspects burglarized a vehicle parked outside a residence on Copeland Drive in Lufkin. The vehicle was unlocked, so the suspects did not have to force entry to gain access to a purse and other valuables.

Initially, the suspects took the purse along with prescription medications, cigarettes, and a camera, but one of the suspects returned the purse to the vehicle after removing cash and a gift card.

A camera outside the residence captured video of the crime but the low-light image makes it difficult to make out the suspects' features. The suspects all appear to be male. One has a thin-build and tattoos on his right upper arm, and he wore a wide-brim hat and tucked his pant legs into his boots. Another is overweight and wore shorts, tennis shoes, and a baseball cap. The final suspect wore a long-sleeve shirt or jacket, possibly a hoodie.

Under the Crime of the Week section of, you can view portions of the video.

If you can identify any of the suspects, call Crime Stoppers of Lufkin at (936) 639-TIPS or submit a tip at All calls and tips are anonymous and Crime Stoppers may pay a reward if the information you provide leads to an arrest related to this crime.

Other vehicle burglaries occurred in the same area of town and around the same time as the burglary described here. Some vehicles were left unlocked, and others had their windows broken, but the crimes might have been prevented by removing the valuables from the vehicles and locking the vehicles' doors. Making your vehicle, your home, and yourself a harder target for criminals can reduce your likelihood of being a victim.
