(RNN) - A tropical storm warning was issued in eastern Mexico in advance of Tropical Storm Dolly, which became the fourth named storm of the 2014 Atlantic hurricane season early Tuesday morning.

The new tropical storm, about 200 miles east of Tampico, Mexico, is packing sustained winds of 45 mph, as of the 4 a.m. CDT advisory from the National Hurricane Center.

It was moving toward the northwest at about 13 mph and is expected to make a west-northwest turn by Tuesday afternoon.

Tropical storm warnings were issued Tuesday morning from Tuxpan northward to Barra El Mezquital, Mexico.

Forecasters expected the storm to strengthen before it makes landfall on the eastern Mexican coast by Wednesday morning.

Rainfall of as much as 10 inches was anticipated across southern Tamaulipas, northern Veracrus and eastern San Luis Potosi through Wednesday evening. This could cause deadly flash flooding and landslides in mountainous areas.
