Nacogdoches newspaper carrier finds woman dead in driveway

NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) -

Nacogdoches police are investigating a woman's death after a person found her while delivering newspapers on Coleman Street Monday morning.

The woman was identified as Mary Broussard, 56, by her grandson, Anthony Menelee. He said Broussard worked at Stephen F. Austin State University's East Cafeteria. Menelee also said his grandmother raised three generations of children and had a history of strokes.

According to the report, the carrier found Broussard in the 1900 block of Coleman Street at 6:56 a.m. at the edge of the driveway and street.

An autopsy has been ordered and the official cause of death will be made by the justice of the peace.

Police say there were no obvious signs of foul play.
