DALLAS, TX - It's been quite the journey for Josh Brent, but he will be returning to the Dallas Cowboys after he serves his 10-game suspension given by the NFL.
Since Brent was charged with intoxication manslaughter for the death of former teammate Jerry Brown in December of 2012, the defensive linemen finished his six month sentence in jail with a 45 day sentence at an alcohol and drug treatment center.
The 26-year-old can ease his way back with the team starting by Week 7 of the season. By then, Brent is allowed to sit in team meetings and participate in individual workouts. Week 9, Brent can return to all team activities other than traveling and playing with the team. Starting Week 11, Brent will be with the franchise full time.
While playing in the NFL, Brent will be serving his 10 years of probation handed down from his intoxication manslaughter charge.
