NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - Nacogdoches Police officers arrested two 17-year-old men on felony injury to a child charges on Friday in connection to allegations that they and other suspects assaulted two juveniles on July 12, causing injuries.
Jordan Johnson and Jontay Jarone Lane, both of Nacogdoches, are still being held in the Nacogdoches County Jail. Each man was charged with injury to a child, which is a third-degree felony. No bail has been set for either man.
According to the arrest affidavit, Nacogdoches Police officers were dispatched to a disturbance in the 1900 block of Pearl Street on in the early morning hours of July 12. When they got to the scene, two juveniles told them that they had been assaulted by a group of black males.
NPD investigators developed a list of possible suspects and brought them in for questioning. According to the affidavit, several witnesses said that Jones and Lane assaulted a boy under the age of 14 and injured him.
