Crime Stoppers of Lufkin needs your help identifying the person responsible for two arson incidents.

Around the end of July, someone shot a flare into a house on Idylwood Drive in Lufkin. The homeowner was readying the house for sale and it was vacant when the suspect fired a flare through a window. The flare traveled through a front window, across the room, and landed on the wood frame of a rear window. Both windows were damaged but the fire did not spread beyond the frame of the rear window.

Just before midnight July 21, a home on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard was attacked in the same manner. This time, the house was occupied and when the suspect fired a flare through a window they set fire to a couch. The residents, who were sleeping at the time, woke to the smell of the couch burning. They dragged the couch outside and extinguished the fire before more damage or injuries occurred.
