Charges Filled In Drunk Driving Accident That Sent Several To Hospital

by Chris Cato

Police say alcohol was to blame for an accident late Saturday night that sent several people to the hospital after a drunk driver ran a stop sign. Lufkin police say 25-year-old Guillermo Olivares of Lufkin was driving north on Daniel McCall when he ran the stop sign at College street, hitting another truck.

Cezar and Patricia Hernandez of Diboll were in that truck. Patricia ended up with a 10-inch gash on her head. Cezar was not injured.

Both Hernandez and Olivares were taken to Lufkin's Memorial Hospital. Charges of intoxicated assault have been filed against Olivares.
