Mother indicted in Timpson toddler's bath tub drowning

CENTER, TX (KTRE) - A Shelby County grand jury has indicted a Timpson woman in connection to her toddler child's drowning in a bath tub in April.

According to a previous report, the parents of the child woke up to their neighbor knocking on the door at their home on County Road 4694. They then found the child in the tub with the faucets still running.

The parents told authorities they did not know how it happened because the child and their three-year-old sibling were asleep when they decided to take a nap.

The child died at a Nacogdoches hospital.

The grand jury charged Leanne Jeanette Fox, 20, with charges of criminally negligent homicide and injury to a child by omission on . Shelby County records show she has not yet been booked into jail.
