A Douglass woman was killed in an early morning car accident. Just before 6:00 Monday morning, Carmela Frazier, 29, was killed about 15 miles from Nacogdoches when her car hit a tree. Troopers say the car may have hydroplaned.

In a bizarre twist, Judge Mike Worsham, who was responding to the fatality, was injured in a separate accident, not far from Nacogdoches, when someone pulled out in front of him. Troopers say the person who caused that accident was not fully alert and thought the judge was turning. It happened while the judge was driving with his emergency flashers on. Fortunately, no one was hurt.
