LUFKIN, TX (News Release) -

Over the night of August 28, 2014, an unidentified suspect burglarized a building at Southern Tractor, located on North Medford Drive in Lufkin. The suspect used bolt cutters to cut a large section of chain link fence and gain entry into a building used to store riding lawnmowers. Once inside, the suspect pushed aside a large rotary cutter and drove a Hustler brand mower out of the building and through the hole they created in the fence.

A surveillance camera captured a short video of the suspect approaching the scene on a bicycle and riding away on the mower but due to distance and low light, the video is of little use until the suspect is identified. You can view the video under the Crime of the Week section of www.LufkinCrimeStoppers.com.

The stolen mower is a zero-turn-style Hustler X ONEi (model 931949), similar to the one shown here. It is yellow in color and has a 52-inch mower deck. At the scene, the suspect left a red in color Mongoose brand bicycle and a pair of bolt cutters.

If you can identify the criminal responsible for this crime, or provide information concerning the location of the stolen mower, call Crime Stoppers of Lufkin at (936) 639-TIPS or submit a tip at www.LufkinCrimeStoppers.com. All calls and tips are anonymous and Crime Stoppers may pay a reward if the information you provide leads to an arrest related to this crime.
