Nacogdoches Crime Stoppers seeking public's help in attempted robbery

NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - The Nacogdoches Police Department is seeking the public's help in identifying of a man who attempted to rob a convenience store near the intersection of University Drive and Starr Avenue Sunday night.

According to a press release, the attempted robbery occurred shortly before 10 p.m. Sunday. The clerk stepped outside of the store, and the masked man carried on a conversation with him or her.

Surveillance video footage showed the suspect, who appeared to be armed with a handgun, enter the store and start walking around. The suspect even went to the store's back room.

Finding no one inside the store, the suspect left the store without taking anything.

The hoodie worn by the suspect had a design on it, according to the press release.
