76-year-old Nacogdoches woman injured in attempted home invasion robbery

NACOGDOCHES, TX (News Release) -

The Nacogdoches Police Department is investigating an incident that left a 76-year-old Nacogdoches woman being treated at a hospital.

Officers were called to a residence at an apartment complex in the 200 block of South Church at 1:47 pm. It was determined that as the victim was entering her apartment, she was approached by a black male suspect who forced her into the residence, knocking her down. The suspect then demanded money. It is unknown at this time exactly what, if anything, was taken.

The suspect then fled the scene on foot. The only description on the suspect that is available at this time is a black male, possibly wearing jeans. The suspect fled in an unknown direction.

The victim was transported to the hospital by ambulance and was being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
