GROVETON, TX (KTRE) - A Trinity woman is in the hospital after the sheriff says she tried to jump out of a second-story window in the Trinity County Courthouse to escape custody during a hearing Tuesday morning.

Sheriff Woody Wallace said Misty Mangum Sizemore, 34, was at court for a jail docket hearing on charges of robbery and possession of a controlled substance and went to the bathroom.

Wallace said the next thing people heard was her yelling in pain outside.

Wallace said Sizemore had managed to jump out a second-story window but suffered back and leg injuries.

Sizemore was arrested in June after Trinity police say she tried to steal cosmetic items from the dollar store and scratched a man who was trying to keep her from leaving.
