HOUSTON, TX (KTRE) - Former Stephen F. Austin Lumberjack Josh Aubrey has been called to step up for the Houston Texans as he has been named to the 53-man roster.
The move was made Tuesday after placing veteran safety Shiloh Keo on waivers with an ankle injury.
Aubrey's time in the NFL has been a roller coaster. Aubrey was briefly with the Seattle Seahawks earlier this month on their practice squad roster before he was cut. However, the Tyler, Texas native was quickly picked up by the Texans and added to their practice squad roster.
The safety played in six games for the Cleveland Browns last year, and started this preseason with the franchise. He recorded three tackles this preseason before being released.
The Texans will be in Arlington this Sunday to play the Dallas Cowboys at noon.
