LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

A grand jury has indicted an Angelina County commissioner accused of using county equipment for personal reasons.

Robert Lewis Loggins, 54, is charged with two counts of misdemeanor A abuse of official capacity. Sheriff Greg Sanches said his bond was set at a collective $1,500.

In July, a county resident called KTRE and reported they had video of Loggins using county equipment on the land of his neighbor, who was Loggins' daughter.

Loggins told KTRE he was purchasing dirt for the county from his daughter and was leveling land so that no equipment would be damaged while entering the property.

Sanches confirmed the indictment was in connection to that accusation.

Sanches said the case was brought to a grand jury in district court because of the circumstances.
