CENTER, TX (KTRE) - Law enforcement in Shelby County have cleared the scene of a bomb threat at the Tyson plant in Center.
Lt. Jeremy Bittick of Center police said they at first got a call of suspicious people at the plant, located at 1019 Shelbyville St., then received a call around 8:30 a.m. of a bomb threat, with the person saying it would "go off at 9."
Bittick said they evacuated the building and they checked the property all the way to the back fence. He said Tyson had a safety squad check all the equipment and nothing suspicious was found.
Bittick said they are investigating who called in the threat and have turned it over to the Texas Rangers and FBI.
