American Soldiers Continue to Put Life on Line

Despite ongoing violence in Iraq, US forces are still working to "re-occupy" Fallujah.

A marine general says the coast is nearly clear for Iraqi civilians to return there. He says US forces have swept through almost every building in Fallujah for a "third and hopefully, final time." The military says it hopes to start letting citizens return by December 24th.

Meanwhile the family of a Lufkin soldier killed in Iraq is working on funeral arrangements. Army Staff Sgt. Todd Gibbs was killed by an explosive device while on patrol. He leaves behind a son and daughter and lots of loved ones who call him "a great American hero."
