ETOILE, TX (KTRE) -

Denise Sustaita is an Etoile woman headed to the Red River to compete in a contest that most women will only watch from the sidelines.

She and her teammate are the only all female team in the competition, and they will duke it out with around 600 men for a boat and cash prizes. Sustaita says that bass angling has been a passion since childhood. It was a tradition passed down from her father, but this year she will enter as a professional lady bass angler.

“Sometimes men look and say wow that girl can back that truck in there?” Sustaita said.

Though bass angling is a male dominated sport, Sustaita is never intimidated by the guys.

“It just makes us work harder!” Sustaita said with a laugh.

She is so passionate about angling that she has even launched a female gear line called “Reel Girls Fish.” Sustaita says Bass Pro Shops never had a woman section with cute and colorful clothes, so she created one herself. With glamorous hair and feminine fishing attire, Sustaita is on her way to Shreveport, Louisiana to give her all in the two day Bass Champs tournament.

The results will be updated daily on http://www.basschamps.com/ If you're lady bass angler too, Sustaita's clothing line can be found on her facebook page. Sustaita adds that she could not do what she does out there without her sponsors. She will represent for East Texas at Bass Champs not only for the prizes, but for the love on angling.
