LUFKIN, TX (News Release) - During the early morning hours of August 28, someone burglarized a construction site located in the 1500 block of West Frank Avenue in Lufkin. The crime was captured on video and Crime Stoppers of Lufkin needs your help identifying the burglar.
Video cameras monitoring the parking area and the entrance to the building captured images of the suspect approaching the building in a truck, entering the building through an unsecured door, and leaving with $2,500 worth of tools.
The videos do not provide much detail about the suspect or his vehicle but what can been seen is that the suspect drove a large, possibly a four-door, long wheelbase, truck and that the suspect is a tall, thin male, wearing a t-shirt, shorts, and a baseball cap. The suspect appears to be a white male with long hair and a dark area around his right forearm and elbow; the dark area might be a tattoo or some type of brace.
When the suspect arrived at the construction site, he first attempted to enter a trailer in the parking area and then moved to the building. The way he pulled on the doors of the building might indicate that he expected to find one unlocked.
The suspect was inside the building for fifteen minutes and exited pulling a rolling cart loaded with Porter Cable, Dewalt, and Black and Decker brand tools and accessories.
