NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - After responding to a report of a reckless driver on FM 95, a Texas Department of Public Safety trooper arrested a 20-year-old Lufkin woman for allegedly driving while intoxicated with a 2-week-old baby in the car with her Friday night.
Victoria Lynn Lindsey was booked into the Nacogdoches County jail on a state-jail felony DWI with a child under the age of 15 charge Saturday.
According to a press release, a trooper from the Nacogdoches DPS office responded to a report of a reckless driver who had stopped in the middle of the road near the intersection of FM 95 and SH 21 at approximately 8:28 p.m. When the trooper arrived on the scene, he spotted a 2014 Ford that had stopped in a traffic lane on FM 95.
The driver of the car was identified as Lindsey, and the trooper noticed that Lindsey exhibited signs of intoxication, according to the press release. After Lindsey allegedly performed poorly on the field sobriety test, she was arrested for DWI with a child.
Lindsey was transported to Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital, where a blood sample was taken, and then transported to the Nacogdoches County Jail.
The 2-week-old baby boy was released into the custody of a family member, according to the press release.
