Nacogdoches PD: Man shot in leg during armed robbery by 2 suspects

NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

Nacogdoches Police officer are investigating an alleged armed robbery that occurred in the 3400 block of Apple Street early Tuesday morning that sent the victim to a local hospital with a gunshot wound to his leg.

According to the police report, a Nacogdoches Police officer responded to the Nacogdoches Medical Center emergency room in response a report of a gunshot victim.

Sgt. Greg Sowell, a spokesman for the Nacogdoches Police Department, said that the complainant told the officer that he he was emptying his trash at his home in the 3400 block of Apple Street when he was approached by two unknown black men. One of the men allegedly shot the victim in the leg.

At that point, one of the men took the victim's wallet, and then the two suspects fled the scene, Sowell said.

Sowell said that the victim's gunshot wound was not life threatening and that the case is still under investigation.
