Local Doctors Receive Vaccine

by Jessica Cervantez

Doctor's offices in Angelina County have received 4,600 doses of flu vaccine. Local doctors are receiving lots of phone calls about the vaccine.

On Thursday, the Angelina Counties and Cities Health District gave out 400 shots. Top priority for these shots still goes to the elderly and children.

Dr. Karl Krohn, a local physician, said, "The shortage is still a problem. Some doctors offices that I'm aware of have not yet gotten the amount of vaccine that they had wanted to get. But, I believe that the plan that the CDC has put in place [will] make sure there is a fair and equitable amount of the vaccine and it gets to the people that are in the highest need for it."

For more information on the availability of flu shots, you should call your local doctor.
