POLK COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - Polk County Sheriff's deputies arrested a Livingston duo Tuesday after an investigation revealed that they allegedly stole a Kubota tractor and trailer from a church located near Lake Living on Sept. 30.
Denise Rachel Brenner, 29, and Kenneth Allen Thompson, 39, both of Livingston, are still being held in the Polk County Jail. Both suspects were charged with engaging in organized criminal activity, which is a felony, and their bail was set at $20,000 each.
In a press release, Polk County Sheriff Kenneth Hammack said the Kubota tractor and trailer were reported stolen from the Church on the Lake on Sept. 30. Hammack said investigator from the Polk County Criminal Investigations Division and an investigator for the Polk County District Attorney's Office were able to identify Brenner and Thompson as two of the suspects in the case.
During the investigation, the detectives were able to gather information about other suspects that were involved in the case, along with the location of the stolen property.
After detectives obtained and executed a search warrant for a residence in San Jacinto County, they recovered the stolen tractor.
"This investigation is ongoing and warrants are being issued on other suspects involved in this case," the press release stated.
