TRINITY COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - The Trinity County Sheriff's Office is preparing for its very first seizure auction this weekend.
Woody Wallace, the Trinity Sheriff, says, "As these things come about and we get clear titles to them where we can sell them, that's when we auction them off."
The items have been seized from drug dealers and thieves and include everything from flat screen televisions to cars.
The auction will be held at the Trinity County Annex Building Courthouse. Doors will open at eight for the public to view the items, and the auction will begin at 10.
Woody Wallace said, "All items must go and they will be sold to the highest bidders."
The sheriff's office says that as drug busts continue, more items are seized. They will try to have an auction at least annually from now on.
All items will be sold "as is" with no warranties or guarantees.
A list of the items for sale can be found on the Trinity County Sheriff's Office Facebook page.
Wallace said, "Money made from the auction will go to the seizures fund and will be used to buy equipment and things of that sort."
