Carnivals Will Come Twice A Year

East Texans love carnivals. Next year, Nacogdoches County will host not one, but two.

The Nacogdoches County Exposition Center is ending its longtime relationship with Murphy Brothers Carnival. They've hired a new firm from Missouri.

The Evans United, a family-owned business, will bring the return of a spring carnival to Nacogdoches. Later in the year, they will return for the Pineywoods Fair.

Expo Center Director Bill Plunkett says the contract will guarantee Nacogdoches County at least a $25,000 return, rain or shine.

    A federal grand jury has indicted a Livingston woman and three men accused of taking part in a conspiracy to steal nearly $400,000 from a Tyler County title company. Ashley Nacole Reeks, 32, is named in a nine-count indictment with charges of bank theft, conspiracy to commit offenses against and to defraud the United States and conspiracy to commit wire fraud.
