Angelina County will be getting rid of some property.
County commissioners approved the sale of the federal building located behind the Pitser Garrison Civic Center in Lufkin. The building housed offices for the U.S. Forest Service, which relocated to the Bank of America building a few months ago. Congressman Jim Turner's office is still located in the federal building, but they plan to move out Friday.
The buyer of the building will remain anonymous until the sale is final, and is said to be a local investor.
Commissioners also approved the old jail facility for leasing. They will be taking proposals in the early part of January.
