LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Schroeder, an intelligent Schnauzer mix, has personality to spare, knows many tricks, and loves being around people, especially kids.
"This is Dr. Schroeder and we're celebrating Halloween [Thursday]. He's got his doctor suit on," said director of Kurth Memorial Animal Shelter, Aaron Ramsey. "This fellow is a Schnauzer mix and he is just an awesome, awesome dog,"
Schroeder got to visit the groomers recently, and now he is sporting a shorter hair cut plus a Mohawk. However, does have much longer hair. Schroeder has lots of personality and even some to spare. He is quite energetic and he is very smart. He knows a lot of commands but his favorite is speak.
He's four-years-old and his festive personality makes him the perfect companion for just about anyone but he especially likes kids.
"He loves kids. We know he's great with kids. He just had a blast out there seeing all the kids," Ramsey said.
Schroeder was brought in as a stray, but staff at the shelter says someone once took care of him and taught him tricks. He would love nothing more than to have full time attention from a family.
"Really any type of home because he is good with kids. He would be a good inside dog because of his size and he would make a really good traveling companion too," Ramsey said. "He is just full of joy and personality."
Schroeder's adoption fee is paid for, so now he just needs a good home. To find out more about our furry friend Schroeder, call Kurth Memorial Animal Shelter at 936-633-0218.
