TIMPSON, TX (KTRE) -

Two suspects armed with at least one firearm stormed into the Austin Bank branch in Timpson Friday afternoon and demanded money from the bank clerk before fleeing the bank, according to authorities.

A press release from the Texas Department of Public Safety stated that the robbery occurred at approximately 4:30 p.m. Friday. At least one of the suspects was armed with a gun, the press release stated.

After the bank clerk gave the two men approximately $2,000 in cash, they fled the bank and reportedly drove from the area in a white four-dour early 2000s model Ford Taurus or Buick.

The two suspects were described as black men. One of the men was wearing a dark, hooded shirt and a brown toboggan, according to the press release. The second suspect was reportedly wearing a white shirt with black writing and a white toboggan.

The bank robbery is currently being investigated by the FBI, the Texas Rangers, and the Shelby County Sheriff's Office.
