Early voting numbers lower than expected in East Texas

ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - Overall, the final early voting numbers in Deep East Texas were lower than expected for the 2014 mid-term election.

In Angelina County, about 9,200 people voted early while just 6,071 in Nacogdoches County cast their ballots last week.

Angelina County Tax Assessor-Collector Midget Sherman said that the turn-out was better than the primary, but she expected more.

This is what Sherman said you need to know about voting Tuesday:

"They need to make sure they check their location where they can vote," Sherman said. "Bottom line is the sample ballot is out there, the generic sample ballot, polling locations are out there, they need to know what polling precinct they're in, and they can find out what location to go to," Sherman said.

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. in both Angelina and Nacogdoches counties.

You can find the list of all the polling places in both counties here:
