The Stephen F. Austin volleyball team is having one of their better seasons yet, as they are eyeing their 14th straight victory Friday against the Northwestern State Demons.
The Ladyjacks currently have a perfect 13 -0 record in conference and there's a lot on the line in Friday's game.
A win would give SFA not only a share to the Southland Conference Title, but also the number one seed going into the SLC Tournament.
The team said their chemistry has been better than ever, and that's what they are going to focus on in Friday's game.
“We're going into this game just like any other game. We're trying to just take it one game at a time. All season that's been working really well and that's our plan for Friday,” said senior setter Paige Holland. “We are going to play Northwestern, but we're going to focus on us. That's kind of theme all season, is focus on SFA volleyball and what that means. We're working on our game plan and we're really excited about the opportunity.”
Head coach Debbie Humphreys could not agree more with how focused they have been on their team alone this season.
“That's what we've done all season long and to this point. It's working really well,” said Humphreys. “We've got a couple key things that we know we need to go execute at a high level against Northwestern State to get the win. I know it's going to be a battle over there. It's going to be a crazy, fun atmosphere to play in.”
The Ladyjacks swept Northwestern earlier this season, and will be playing in Natchitoches, Louisiana Friday night.
