A Sunday School class at Fredonia Hill Baptist Church in Nacogdoches has traditionally served dinner to the homeless on Christmas morning. This year they're doing even more. They'll also cater the meal.
Volunteers began doing pre-meal preparation Christmas Eve Day. Christmas morning, the church families will go to Godtel. They'll spend about four hours there serving the meal to at least sixty residents.
One volunteer said it teaches children and others good stewardship.
Another good deed comes from Nacogdoches children. Better late than never is their attitude. They saw our story last week on how soldiers love to receive Christmas cards.
TJR Elementary children spent their last week before the Christmas break making handmade Christmas cards. The cards won't arrive in time for Christmas, but the Christmas message they wrote will warm the service men and women's hearts anytime of the year.
Commercial Bank of Nacogdoches is collecting gifts and letters for the soldiers.
