ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

A woman who was injured in a one-vehicle rollover accident on FM 706 in Angelina County early Saturday morning was listed in “fair” condition Monday.

Rebecca Berkley, a spokeswoman for East Texas Medical Center-Tyler said Sarah Lee Scott, 26, of Zavalla is still in the hospital's Intensive Care Unit.

According to a previous East Texas News story, the Lufkin Department of Public Safety dispatched an officer to the scene of a fatal single car crash at approximately 1:02 a.m. Saturday morning.

The officer arrived to see a red 2005 GMC truck had veered off the road and rolled over on FM 706 South and Porter Road in Angelina County.

The driver, identified as James Tad Wheeler, 28, of Corrigan, was taken by ambulance to CHI St. Luke's Memorial Hospital, where he was later released. Two passengers, Scott and Michael Grant Nash, 35, of Lufkin, were ejected from the vehicle. Nash was pronounced dead at the scene by the Angelina County Justice of the Peace. Scott was flown to ETMC-Tyler due to the severity of her injuries.

According to the police report, Wheeler was allegedly racing with another vehicle at the time of the crash. The accident is under investigation.
