LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - If you're looking for something to do this weekend, you can head out to Morris Frank Park for the Hospice in the Pines annual fun run.
The event is totally free and this year in addition to the 3K fun run there is an obstacle course. After you finish the race, participants can run through tires and tunnels, do a three-legged race and an egg walk. It's all to remember the loved ones that hospice has taken care of.
"The community has been a tremendous support to Hospice in the Pines," said Napoleon Shaw of Hospice in the Pines. "If it were not for our generous and giving community hospice in the pines would no longer exist. We feel indebted to our community. We also want to continue to remember those loved ones and family members that hospice in the pines has taken care of."
Registration for the walk starts at 8:30 am Saturday at Morris Frank Park. The walking begins at 9:00 am. In addition to the walk there will be a balloon release.
