ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

About a dozen women packed the Bald Hill Baptist Church Thursday to honor the military.

These women spent their day sewing quilts for wounded soldiers.

About 14 quilts were hand sewn Thursday afternoon at the Quilts of Valor Workshop. Organizer Linda Fancher said each quilt is stitched with love.

"The goal behind this is to provide comfort to a wounded soldier and that's the Quilt of Valor Program,” Fancher said. “This has not been collectively done since 2009."

When the quilts are finished, they will be distributed across the US.

The project was funded by the church's women's ministry.
