The Central High School softball team celebrated one of their own Thursday, when Katelyn Boles signed her National Letter of Intent to play at Northwestern State University.
Boles looks like a good fit for college softball, just by looking at her bio.
To name a few things on her lengthy accomplishments, she was the Newcomer of the Year her freshmen season at Central, and first team all-district and all-state her sophomore year. Boles suffered a knee injury her junior year, but her coaches said she's getting healthy and the Lady Demons will be lucky to have her.
“They're getting a pitcher that will help lead them to some Southland Conference Championships. She'll put them on the map as far as softball goes. That's a big time pitcher for that type of school,” said Boles' coach Anna Whiddon.
Boles said she wouldn't have been able to do it without her coaches.
“They taught me right from wrong, and what to do right so I can get the best success out of it,” said Boles. “They always stuck with me and encouraged me not to give up.”
