JASPER COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - Jasper County authorities managed to track down a trusty who escaped after using prison dogs to find him in the woods about 36 hours after his alleged escape.
Sheriff Mitchell Newman said Shane Borel, 39, was seen in the Evadale area and had burglarized a home on County Road 793 around 3 p.m. Saturday.
After that, dogs were brought in the area and they tracked him down in the woods off of FM 2246.
Borel is now charged with escape, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and burglary of a habitation.
Newman said Borel was working as a trusty at a Precinct 4 barn around 2 p.m. Friday when he stole a 1983 Ford pickup.
